While "Free Money" dealt with the gold rush of the crypto era and the characters' quest to get rich at any cost, "New Money" focuses humorously on what happens next - how to deal with the sudden luck that has fallen into your lap. According to the film's producer Tõnu Hiielaid, "New Money" is a light comedy about how money can change people and relationships - or it shows you pretty much exactly what you already were. According to Hiielaid, "New Money" is a fun and recognisable viewing experience for a wide audience, which does not require being familiar with the previous film to enjoy.
